SRG Wears it Purple for Heart Research UK
In September our Social Run Group members ditched their usual running attire and reach for all things Purple. Gathering in front of their local Up & Running shop for a 'Wear it Purple' run in support of our partnership with Heart Research UK.
Our members kindly donated £1 each to the charity to help kickstart the fundraising. It's great to see our staff, regular SRG members and some new faces coming together to support this fantastic charity!
Full support from the Bournemouth Store... rumour has they stopped for a post-run pint which boosted donations, thanks Bournemouth SRG (left picture).
Oldham's Social Run Group (right image) went the extra mile with their Wear It Purple night. Organising a post-run raffle to help fundraise Heart Research UK, one of their lucky members won a sports massage kindly donated by a local sports therapist.
Out in force at Basingstoke (right image) with 28 runners with 4 new faces, fantastic support form the local running community. Alongside Chiswick, who are showing their love and enthusiasm when out getting the purple miles in (left picture).
Sign up to your local SRG
Fun, free and friendly, the Social Run Group or SRG for short is a weekly 5K that is perfect for runners of all abilities. It is a great place to begin running or share some time running together.
To register, please just visit your local Up & Running store and speak to one of our team members. They will help you complete our new registration form and give you your new SRG card which you will need to bring each week. Before every run you will need to scan in with your card so we can keep an eye of numbers and keep track of your total amount of runs with SRG!
