Luxembourg 1500m: Pressio and ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 review
Tyler, Up & Running Birmingham
Get set, get jet and heading to Luxembourg. Tyler took the start line of the CAS Internationals 2023, competing in the Men's 1500m race. Sporting Pressio kit and ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25, but the question is how did they perform...
Starting from the top
Opting for the Pressio Core 1/4 zip top, designed with natural seed-based wicking materials, to keep the moisture under control when the going gets tough. Sustainability and durability are assured, but what about the fit?
"It has a real nice fit, I can struggle to find running clothes that are the perfect length, but this quarter zip manages to tick all the boxes whilst also being a lovely spruce green colour!
Coming out on top for Tyler, the Pressio Men's Core 1/4 zip is a great choice for runners looking for a high quality top to help them keep their cool.
The pieces inbetween
The list can go on for pre-race rituals and for many of us, a shake out run is always on the cards to loosen the legs and get race day ready. In the Luxembourg climate, what better than the Pressio Elite Singlet to head out for those all essential shakeout miles.
Designed with four phase moisture management and lightweight, breathable fabrics to keep you going with the flow when the nerves are high.
"I sampled my race day outfit in my pre-race shakeout, the singlet and short combo is elite! Perfect sizing and breathability to keep me cool whilst I'm inevitably going to over heat in my race!"
Get to the bottom of it
Finishing off the outfit with the Pressio Elite 6.5" Short, featuring enhanced technology for ventilation, breathability and total comfort to step up and stride on. When it came to race day, they certainly didn't fall short...
"Again giving a great fit, with an elastic waistband that immediately shaped to the hips, meaning there was no movement at all. The lightweight texture and breathable mesh, meant I was able to keep cool when picking up the pace"
When it comes to it, the Pressio Elite 6.5" Short are the perfect pair for a distraction free race.
Put your best foot forward
Lace up, shake out and go! ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25, the most comfortable shoe? Absolutely. The combination of their new Pure Gel technology and 20% more lightweight FF Blast Plus Eco Foam underfoot, giving you the softest ever landings and a cloud like feel with every stride.
"The Gel-Nimbus 25 served me well in all elements of my trip to Luxembourg, the travelling, exploring and most importantly the pre-race warm up. Keeping my feet feel fresh and ready for the start line, they were brilliant and definitely benefitted my legs with the extra cushioning."
The results are in
From start to finish the Pressio kit came out in first place. Not only focussing on quality and design of each piece to give each runner that perfect fit and distraction free feel we all know is essential when you're keeping your eye on the prize.
The ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 lived up to their name of the most comfortable shoe, providing that cloud-like feel to keep the feet feeling fresh for the start line.
And finally, Tyler came in at an incredible 3:43.20 for the 1500m race! A huge well done on an amazing result, fair to say a weekend well spent.
