Saucony Endorphin Pro 3 Review: "Speed, comfort and race-day energy"
First impressions
Fresh out of the box and this shoe had speed written all over it. The lightweight feel, paired with the max stack of PWRRUN PB Foam cushioning, got me excited to try it at the next interval session.
Fit and width
The mesh upper gave slight hesitation of how this shoe would fit and feel in comparison to other models I had been running in, however it brought a new definition to lightweight and breathable, without feeling exposed. The FORMFIT design hugged my foot enough to give me the security needed when pushing through the paces, a hassle-free ride every time.
The only sticking point would be that this model is slightly narrow in the forefoot, for me this was not an issue, however, those with a wider foot may want to size up for their desired fit.
Cushioning & Responsiveness
Not having run in a carbon-plated shoe before, I was unsure of what to expect from the stride and what the difference it would make to performance… SPEEDROLL technology and carbon-fibre plate were the dynamic duo that I didn’t know I needed. The first session was 6 x 400m and this versatile race day shoe was propelling me forward in every stride, with maximum energy return meant pushing the limits never felt so effortless, and comfortable!
Saucony’s PWRRUN PB Foam cushioning in the midsole takes this version of the Endorphin Pro to new heights. There’s the danger of softness compromising responsiveness, but not here. The max stacked cushioning gives a soft, bouncy ride that remains firm enough to give the power needed to push on to the next step.
Overall performance
Speed, comfort and race-day energy, the Endorphin Pro 3 delivers it all. This carbon-plated shoe is a game changer when you’re wanting to take the tempo to the next level, whether that be on your next training run or on race day itself. The sleek design and FORMFIT locks you in and loads you up with the power of its SPEEDROLL technology and carbon-fibre plate, so you are ready to push your limits every time. This shoe definitely brings energy and I’m all here for it.
