Adidas Manchester Marathon
Our team had the chance to win a place for the adidas Manchester Marathon, our very own Phil Crowhurst was one of the lucky winners to take the place and head to the start line in April
Where it began for Phil
I’ve always run ever since I could walk, I had a big brother who would chase me!
At school I ran cross country and was involved in any sports team I could try my hand at, so always kept fit. Leaving school I moved to Scotland and fell in love with fell running, summer evenings we’d often finish work and dash to glen coe to run the Aonach Eagach ridge or other mountains in the area.
Striding through university life
As I grew older and went to university I ran various marathons and half’s, and used running to keep in shape for other activities, primarily hockey. Leaving university I gradually spent more time cycling and running has since become an opportunity to get out of the house for an hour and get away from my admin work.
The Manchester Marathon
The opportunity to run the Manchester Marathon is perfect, it’s a hard but achievable challenge which has come at the beginning of the year and gives me a sporting challenge to focus my attention on for the coming months… my only worry is I might rediscover my real love for running and do something really stupid and enter the Spin Race next January!
GOOD LUCK PHIL
Good luck Phil! Enjoy the training and have an amazing race, don't forget your #adidas kit!
