    Darlington Store Manager

Running background: A social runner who loves getting out with others and keeping every run enjoyable.

Why London? I wanted to challenge myself in 2026.

Current training goal: Building up the miles so that the long runs feel easier.

Longest run so far: 15 miles.

One thing I’m loving (or dreading): Loving the motivation to get out the door — even bad weather isn’t putting me off.

Go-to running shoe: New Balance 1080 v15 — super soft and really responsive.

What keeps you going on tough runs: Loud rock music blasting through my headphones.

Biggest lesson training has taught you: Pace yourself — slow and steady is key for me.

What finishing London will mean to you: Running alongside thousands of others past world-famous landmarks like Big Ben and Tower Bridge — that’s what I’m most excited for.

  • Olivia

Digital & Social Media Marketing Executive

Running background: I’ve dipped in and out over the years, mostly casual evening runs with friends, but this is the first time I’ve fully committed to a structured training block.

Why London? It felt like one of those opportunities you just can’t say no to.

Current training goal: Consistency — showing up, doing the work, and trusting the plan.

    Longest run so far: 18km.

One thing I’m loving (or dreading): Loving the switch-off time running gives me. Dreading every dark, rainy run.

    Go-to running shoe: New Balance 1080 v15.

What keeps you going on tough runs: Knowing that once I start, not finishing isn’t really an option.

Biggest lesson training has taught you: Fuelling properly actually makes a huge difference.

What finishing London will mean to you: Being part of the atmosphere. I’ve heard so many incredible things about race day, and getting to experience it first-hand feels incredibly lucky.

  • Charlie

    Content & Community Ambassador

Running background: Ran cross country and athletics growing up. Restarted running during lockdown and now runs around five times a week. Completed three marathons — London, Copenhagen, and Paris.

Why London? My first-ever marathon! Back then I had no goal and finished in 3:04 — a shock that showed my potential. Now I want to run it properly.

    Training goal: Sub 2:40.

    Longest run: Marathon distance.

Loving / Dreading: Loving the long, easy runs and the routine they bring.

    Go-to shoes: New Balance 1080 v15.

Tough runs motivation: Breaking the run into small goals instead of focusing on the full distance.

Biggest lesson: Recovery is just as important as training.

What finishing London will mean: The crowds — London’s atmosphere is unmatched.

Race Day Footwear

Choose race day shoes you’ve trained in and are comfortable, broken-in, and supportive. Pair with good socks to prevent blisters, so you can focus on running your best.

When your footwear feels right, you can focus fully on the race ahead.

Race Day Clothing

What you wear on race day can affect both your comfort and confidence. Stick to clothing you’ve already trained in and never try something new on race day.

Lightweight, moisture-wicking fabrics help keep you cool and prevent chafing, letting you focus on what really matters, the race ahead.

Race Day Nutrition

What you eat and drink on race day can make a big difference to your performance and how you feel on the run. Stick to foods and drinks you’ve tested in training and never try anything new on race day.

London Running Must Haves

  • What is SRG?

Much like a welcoming local running club, our Social Run Group (SRG) is built around community, encouragement, and enjoying the miles together. We’re a friendly and inclusive group based near you, open to everyone, so whether you’re completely new to running or already have some experience under your belt.

Every run is led by a run leader and supported by a back runner, ensuring no one gets left behind and the group stays together. The pace is relaxed and comfortable, making it ideal for runners of all abilities and a great place for anyone looking to start their running journey.

  • How do I sign up?

You can register quickly and easily by visiting your local Up & Running store and speaking to a member of the team. They’ll help you complete the registration process and provide you with your SRG card, which you’ll need to bring along each week.

All runners must be registered, even if you’ve previously attended one of our runs. Before each session, you’ll be asked to scan your SRG card. This helps us keep an accurate register for safety purposes and also allows you to track all the runs you take part in.

  • Benefits & Rewards

Running is great. So much so, we want to reward you for getting it done.

Our rewards will give you that extra bit of motivation to keep you running, even when the weather turns! Our SRG runners get 10% discount in store and online to be used on the latest running kit.

  • Who are Coopah?

A platform using data-driven insights, personalised support, and expert coaching to help runners grow stronger, faster, and to find their purpose through running.
Coopah utilises technology as a teammate, never as a replacement for human expertise. It blends top-quality coaching with AI to make effective training accessible to everyone.

  • How does it work?

Built by coaches and backed by science, Coopah is powered by AI to create training plans that'll help you develop through your training for the big day. The app syncs with your smartwatch (check beforehand for smartwatch compatibility) to provide you with a session on your wrist that paces and monitors performance while you run.
