Recent achievements include running in the World Cup orienteering races in Norway for Great Britain, high placings in the Muker show and Hebden Sports fell races, and a time of 34mins at the Billingham 10km. Favorite kit - Brooks Infiniti, Timex Target Trainer heart rate monitor, OMM Jacket.

Laura has been with us for many years, with her gait analysis skills being complimented by her further studies in biomechanics at Leeds Met. She is also an athlete who so far this year has won the 1500m title at the inter counties, doubling up at the North of England championships to take both the 800m and 1500m titles.

Tom works for us part-time whilst he is studying at Leeds Met University, where he is a member of their triathlon team. He also takes part in road and fell running and is taking part in this year's Yorkshire 3 Peaks fell race in April. He is also planning on cycling from Sheffield to Barcelona this summer on a charity ride, and walked the "Tour du Mont Blanc". His second love is house music and loves running to Ibiza tunes including Deadmau5 Luciano!

Sorbothane Shock Stopper Insoles (Full Strike)

After training hard on the unforgiving redgra I decided to try the Sorbothane Full Strike Insoles as a temporary solution to recent pains and niggles in my knees. Admittedly, the cushioning in my trainers were nearing its expiry date, but the option to try the Sorbothane insoles proved fruitful.
The insoles performed brilliantly against consistent high impact, as the nature of my exercise involves shifts in speeds and changes of direction. The problems in my knees had gone, and I also noticed delayed onset muscle soreness had been reduced. This is because the technology in Sorbothane transfers shock sidewards, away from the body, rather than back up through the body. I replaced the insoles with my current insoles and the fit was snug. They do however push the foot slightly more towards the front of the trainer. This may be a problem for those clocking higher miles. Another setback, whilst being small, is that the trainer felt slightly heavier than it had previously.
In conclusion, the Sorbothane Full Strike insoles did what I expected them to do, really well. I would recommend this product to anyone who is involved in high impact sports, or for those who strike the ground hard.

La Sportiva Crosslite

After a bad fall on the Meanwood running trail due to no grip on my running shoes I knew it was time to invest in a decent pair of trail/fell shoes. The Crosslites have been worth every penny. They offer a unique 'impact brake system' which adds 20% more traction and it certainly feels like it does. As you run down banks and in the mud you can feel the traction and grip which makes you feel in control. They are a comfy fit and offer a protective covered layer over the laces which keep socks dry and debris out. A great shoe at a decent price.

Mizuno Wave Rider 13

For those neutral runners with a wider foot the Mizuno Wave Rider should not be ignored. Following on from the Wave Rider 12 one would be forgiven for thinking the 13 is a racer, as it weighs in at just under 300g. Like the 12 model however, the 13 manages to maintain a decent level of cushioning via 'wave technology', whilst offering high responsiveness. In terms of comfort it felt as though there was a slight 'dip' from the heel to the forefoot which felt obstructing at first, but disappeared when running.
An added bonus is that the 13 has also maintained its £80 price tag. Great shoe, and great value for money.

Brooks Glycerin

My number one running shoe. Where do I start - years of running and not a change of model or brand. There has been no need, this shoe has pure cushioning throughout and is a solid neutral shoe. The most trusty shoe I own, and I have a lot of shoes.

Groundhog Socks

This has great moisture management and great cushioning through out.I recommend the super cushion due to the slight advantage for blister protection.

Sportjock Sports Bra

A great versatile maximum support bra that doesn't chafe or feel sweaty after 5 minutes! The racer back design fits the shoulders really well, you hardly know it's on. Available in sizes 28-44 and cup sizes A-G, they suit most busts! I love the choice of colours and can't wait to try the new pink colour when it comes out. I also have a power vest which offers a larger covering with a top layer, this provides a little extra warmth in the winter or a light extra layer for my morning runs. They withstand a lot of wear and tear and washing but make sure you change them regularly as the elastic will stretch or tighten over time.

Skins Capri Tights

A very technical pair of capri tights that have a lot more advantages than your ordinary capri's. They consist of a tight compression fabric that is sleek and very comfortable. The Skins work by allowing you to exercise for longer as they keep your muscles working allowing oxygen to oxidise any lactic acid. I find my tights work well on speed and hill sessions, but not quite so good on longer runs, although I still wear them as they are very comfortable. Skins have other technical advantages such as skin temp, which optimises body tempertaure, and skin fresh, which is an antibacterial treatment which prevents odour.
