The Harrogate shop
is conveniently located for the town centre, on Station Parade at the bottom of the Bus Station.
Whether you are just starting out running or about to enter your next marathon we are here to help and advice.
We always have local race application forms and details of local running clubs in the store.
Harry
started running in 2004 with his first race being the Harrogate Theatre Race.
Since then Harry has completed a couple of Great North Runs and marathons in London, New York and Paris.
Harry is an active member of Harrogate Harriers and a UL athletics level 1 coach.
Tim
has been a member of Nidd Valley Runners since September 2009. He enjoys all types of running, road, trail, etc.
He has completed the Great North Run and The Brass Monkey Half Marathon. He cycles 10 miles to work as cross training.
The next targets include The Brathay Marathon 2010 which goes right round Lake Windermere.
Glen
says "my running experiences
on home soil started with the first London Marathon in 1980. Nowadays
an active member of Harrogate Harriers, where I occupy the role of
membership sec. I once considered myself to be the fastest banjo player
over 10 miles in North Yorkshire; but fear this is has not been the
case for some time! "
Ian
enjoys running adventures. At the tender age of 40 he ran the london Marathon in 2:48.
Since then he has moved towards trail and off road running as well. Last year he completed The Yorkshire 3 Peaks
in 3:34 and was placed 7th in The English Fell Championships aged 50. A coach at Harrogate Harriers he welcomes any
opportunity to discuss running style, training plans, kit and shoes.
Chris
is a member of Skyrac AC, having joined the club in 2006 after deciding to take up running out of the blue.
He attempts distances ranging from 400m-1500m, with limited success.
Having said this, Chris and his coaching team think the World 800m record
is a realistic target for him to chase over the coming years. Watch this space!
Running shoes with the right cushioning and support for you will make training and racing easier.
Take the guesswork out of buying your next pair - a few minutes on the treadmill and the help of our
knowledgable staff is all it takes. (Please bring along your current running shoes for comparison.)

A great place to run if you want to get out of Harrogate and favourite with a lot of the Up & Running Staff is Swinsty and
Fewston Reservoirs, 10 miles or so to the West of Harrogate.
Either run round them both or when just begining running, start with Swinsty about 3 miles. |
