Hello and welcome to Up &
Running, NI @ Newry!
We hope you enjoy browsing the site and our TalkBack forum, the most active running-talk forum in NI.
The Newry Team ...
Michael,
'MJ', social runner who enjoys running with North Down AC - better known as the Monday night Joggers
- and our very own club formed from the TalkBack forum - Up and Runners. 2009 has seen MJ run the
Flora London marathon where he beat Ronan Keating in a sprint to the line - it was not pretty!
Recent halves included Larne and Newry with a 1.40 in the latter. Loves running on the beaches of
Donegal and North Down coastal path.
Catriona,
currently working between the two shops, Newry and Belfast. Lagan
Valley AC runner who has been trying her hand at triathlon this summer
while getting back to fitness after injury. Looking forward to the
cross country season, if only it would stop raining quite so much!
Sara,
keen rower with Belfast Rowing Club, currently trying to improve her
sculling skills, and who runs as part of her fitness training. Sara
is also a fully qualified sports massage therapist, based in Lisburn.
Partial to a large American(o) as part of her daily consumption!
Sinead,
outdoor mad, happy to try anything (sporty!). Interests so far include
achievements in triathlon, climbing and Saturday night dance-offs!
Presently studying photography, although is a fully qualified sports
massage therapist and Fitness Trainer.
Brendan,
ambitious 400m runner with Lisburn AC, who has posted some impressive
times to date. Has lately been having a go at the 400m hurdles and
is even considering a duathlon come September. Recently successfully
completed his degree in sports physiology in Preston. He is the shop's
resident film and music buff! For his next birthday he has requested
a 12ft sub from Subway, which he refuses to share!
