Pop in and visit our shop for an informal but informative chat and let us help you get the most out of your running or fitness experience. Simon is a member of local club Littledown Harriers. He runs all distances from 5k to marathons, particularly enjoying the off road runs in and around the area. Simon also ran with the Hash House Harriers whilst working in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia finding the social side of running as enjoyable as the running itself. This year's Flora London Marathon saw Simon dressed as Paddington Bear (he still ran sub 5 hours!), raising money for Action Medical Research. Simon also enjoys the challenges of Ashtanga Yoga, which he uses to improve core stability, breathing and posture for running. Having first seen these Capri last summer I've been waiting for them to arrive in store. They're in and I've been able to put them to the test. I'm not a competitive runner but enjoy running (training for Race For Life) and more especially Ashtanga Yoga so look for kit which is versatile, functional and comfortable. The things I like about the pants are that they are comfortable and stretchy for yoga poses without being as tight fitting as the tracksters or other lycra tights. The 3/4 length also very practical in that they don't flap about at the bottom and no chance of standing on the hem. I am also pleased with the performance of the fabric itself, it's lightweight and breathes very well whether on a training run or in full yoga flight. Other advantages of the Capri are that you can wear them to/from the gym or as a liesure pant, and the cut is fashionable. I'm not quite sure what the point of the front pockets is (they could be zipped (?)) other than holding a tissue. Buy them if: You are looking for a comfortable, fashionable pant to use on training runs, body classes, pilates or yoga.
Local RunsEven in the merging towns of Bournemouth and Poole there are plenty of places to run. Runs along the prom between Sandbanks and Hengistbury Head are ever popular in the area. There are routes that can be taken along the River Stour pathway which give the impression of running in the countryside and can be incorporated into a long or short run to offer a variation from the streets. For those longer Sunday runs why not exploit the natural beauty of the Purbecks which have a mixture of challenging hills and spectacular scenery on cleary worn walking routes.
